About the Construction Project Manager (Data Centre) function: Due to excellent results and future expansion plans, the Construction Project Manager will play a key function in the Project's continued development and success in this new data centre project. Key Job responsibilities: » supervise the construction related activities for new greenfield data centre construction projects. This will include the ownership of the project scope, timeline, and budget » Driving costs down and schedules shorter while maintaining quality » Provide construction management for specific initiatives aimed at increasing the resiliency of data centre » Review constructcapability of electrical and mechanical systems and building designs connected with the construction plan » Manage and vet the submission by external consultants/contractors/vendors on civil and structural design matters » Manage the schedule and connected risks to ensure reliable and predictable turnover dates » Communicate upward regarding the status and risks of the project » Negotiate vendor and contractor contracts and purchase orders as needed » Mitigate risk for the project through pre-planning, innovative planning, and partnership » Develop cost savings solutions and identify project savings/underruns early » Partner with both external partners (the general contractor and other vendors) as well as internal cross-functional partners to achieve the synergy of collaboration » Coordinate needs and asks with the procurement/sourcing group to support the needs of the project » Support the pre-construction efforts for upcoming projects » Support the development of capital project budgets and constructions ROMs » Develop campus-wide book of work including contractor, designer, and vendor management, and record best practices for future projects » Support the on-site inspection process to ensure a zero punch list and an expeditious turnover to the Network, Facilities and Operations team » Support the local Data Centre Operations team and other cross-functional departments as needed » Promote and model an attitude of continuous improvement, partnership, and teamwork in behaviours and communications » Support and lead an industry leading safety culture and programme To succeed in this Construction Project Manager (Data Centre) function, you must possess 10 years of practice in construction, especially for data centre building and have the capability to work on their own initiative. Key Requirements: » Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent degree » Minimum of 10 years of work practice in construction management/engineering design consulting practice » practice with minimum of two data centre construction projects » General expertise of electrical and mechanical systems » expertise of industry standards, building codes and safety standards including fire protection regulations » expertise of capital budget management » Negotiation skills and practice providing solutions to problem » Proficient working expertise of GDocs/MS Word, GSheets/MS Excel, and GSlides/MS PowerPoint » Fluency in English » Familiarity with Procore, Aconex, BIM 360, CostX, P6 This multinational company needs no introduction and is recognised as the leader in their field of skills.
